Als de Iraanse filmregisseur Sepideh Farsi in april 2024 naar de Gazastrook probeert te reizen, mag ze de grens niet over. Haar idee om het leven onder Israëlisch beleg vast te leggen loopt vast, totdat ze in contact komt met Fatma ‘Fatem’ Hassona, een jonge, getalenteerde fotojournaliste uit Gaza-stad, en Fatma haar ogen in het verwoeste gebied worden. Via videogesprekken bespreken de twee vrouwen het leven van de jonge fotografe: haar wonderlijke levenskracht, haar hoop, haar angsten en tranen. Vanuit Fatma’s woning ontvouwt zich een zeldzaam menselijk perspectief op een onmenselijk bestaan wanneer ze tegelijkertijd verslag doet van de bombardementen en verwoestingen. Meer dan 200 dagen houden de vrouwen contact; totdat ook Fatma en haar familie door een Israëlische luchtaanval om het leven komen - één dag nadat de selectie van de film voor Cannes werd aangekondigd.
